Christine Heiland was born and raised in Western Montana, surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Bitterroot Valley. As a child, she loved taking photos of people and animals using her Polaroid camera, and later with the 35 mm through the 4H photography program. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, whose career in the Army allowed them to travel globally and capture many amazing photo opportunities. Though she never left her professional career in the safety field, she continued to explore photography as a hobby, taking no-fee family and wedding photos.

Six years ago, her spouse retired from Active duty, and they moved back home to the Bitterroot Valley to raise their son. This was finally the right time for her to plant the roots of JcrossC Photography, and establish her home-based business. JcrossC Photography represents her family brand, J+C, which she and her then-boyfriend, now spouse of 25 years,  carved into the side of a tree, the day before he departed for the Army.

When not taking photos, you can find Christine trail riding her horse Rocket throughout the Bitterroot National Forest, but usually a camera is in her pack.
